November 9 colleen hoover6/30/2023 It also reminded me a lot of the plot twist I have in my own novel, Words We Never Say. The emotions, actions, and dialogue of the characters at this point made everything so real that I came close to crying a few times (which, by the way, never happens for me). It was a part of the whole story and the way it was tied in was beautiful. The idea that Ben had caused the fire that hurt Fallon was put in such a way that it was believable and not just added for the shock factor. There were subtle hints-and I mean subtle-that led to the conclusion of this book. I seriously admire Colleen Hoover for the plot twist she delivered so expertly in this book. You don’t learn anything about the characters between those times until they meet up again, which is obviously one of the things that makes this book so spectacular. One of the things that I’d like to mention is that there are huge time jumps between each November 9. If you love romance novels, this is sure to be one of your favorites. The characters are phenomenal as always and the plot is even better. It is a beautifully written story about finding your confidence, loving yourself, and learning how to forgive. Ugly Love, Confess, and It Ends with Us are at the top of that list, but November 9 just earned its spot in my top favorite CoHo books. Colleen Hoover has delivered many of my favorite romance novels.

Gurney and Myers were the first to present strong arguments contradicting W.B. Together with his close friend Edmund Gurney (1847–88), he studied the psychology of sensory and motor automatisms as well as hypnotism. Lacking formal scientific or medical training, Myers was a hugely disciplined and gifted autodidact well versed in physiology and science at large. While the focus of the book is clearly on Myers’ research into ‘supernormal’ phenomena, and particularly the question of the survival of the human personality after bodily death, Trevor Hamilton also provides original insights into Myers the man of letters and, perhaps most interesting to readers of this journal, Myers the psychologist. Immortal Longings, based on a wealth of primary and secondary sources, is the first biographical monograph dedicated to this unusual figure. Since Henri Ellenberger’s Discovery of the Unconscious (1970), historical interest in Frederic Myers (1843–1901), a Trinity classicist and poet, Cambridgeshire inspector of schools, and co-founder of the Society for Psychical Research, has grown slowly but steadily.

Chasing stars alex k thorne6/30/2023 The man in the prow, Lester Maynard, was a reed-thin former shop teacher with apricot-colored hair, pale ginger freckles, and a prostate the approximate size of a grapefruit - a fact that created in him a near-constant feeling of needing to urinate. In fact, at present, both men were approximately three sheets to the wind, four if you asked their wives - not that they were ever invited on these late-night excursions. This - their love of night fishing - was about the only thing they had in common, save for one other thing: They both liked to drink. In it sat two men who couldn’t have been more unalike if they’d tried: one was black, one was white one was skinny, one was fat one was wealthy, and one was poor. On ocean water made black by midnight, perhaps half a mile from the Santa Cruz Wharf, gently bobbed a solitary rowboat painted a particularly ugly shade of blue-green. The Midnight Ripper, book 4 of The Vampires of Crimson Cove series, is coming September 29th
